Getting to Gatwick Airport & More...
When travelling to or from Gatwick Airport by private transfer, personal car, train, coach (you get
the point), you need to ensure you take plenty of time for the transit (especially if traveling towards
Gatwick Airport); traffic can be a real nightmare and you should always allow plenty of time for the
journey. Saying this, we have some examples below of how much time you should allow for the transfer
(this takes into consideration possible traffic delays, although we can't predict the worst case
scenario) when choosing to use a private transfer with Twelve.
Traffic delays can occur:
between 06:30 AM - 09:30 AM (duration of transfer can take up to 50% longer than what shown on Google Maps)
between 09:30 AM - 16:00 PM (duration of transfer can take up to 25% longer than what shown on Google Maps)
between 16:00 PM - 20:00 PM (duration of transfer can take up to 50% longer than what shown on Google Maps)
between 20:00 PM - 06:30 AM (duration of transfer usually matches that shown on Google Maps, but you must always take in consideration possible events on that day, road works, weekends etc.)
Although the time we display for the duration of the transfer is usually much higher than it
takes in normal traffic conditions, we like to be sure that even if some traffic delays occur,
there won't be any problems in reaching your destination in time. We know how important it
is to reach your flight in time, so as we say... "better safe than sorry".
If you are arriving at Gatwick Airport and are in need of an airport transfer to pretty much
any location in London or the UK (of course, we offer return journeys as well), you can be
sure that Twelve will be able to help you with any transfer. With a wide selection of
extra services included with any pickup from Gatwick Airport; such as flight tracking (we
monitor the status of your flight and reschedule the pickup, if required, according with
the actual arrival time, so delays won't result in extra charges), meet and greet (our
driver will be waiting at the pickup poing with a board displaying your name) and of
course, 30 mins of free waiting and parking time (which apply depending on actual landing
time of your flight).
Where do I meet the driver?
Gatwick Airport has 2 terminals, so depending on the terminal you will be landing on, our driver will be waiting for you at the following location...
Terminal North - arrivals hall - domestic arrivals - near Costa Coffee shop / all other flights - near Money Exchange Bureau
Terminal South - arrivals hall - near Costa Coffee shop
How should I schedule my pickup?
As our service includes only 30 mins of free waiting and parking time, we advise
those seeking to get a transfer from Gatwick Airport, to use the following time
frames, to avoid as much as possible any extra charges occurred from any delays further to
our free waiting time...
Domestic Flights - at least 15mins after landing (if only hand luggage, or 30mins with checked luggage)
European Flights - at least 30mins after landing (if only hand luggage, or 45mins with checked luggage)
International Flights - at least 45mins after landing (if only hand luggage, or 1 hour with check luggage)
